Day 3Visit ti T- Sangu

After Breakfast day return trip to T- Sangu & New Baba Mandir sightseeing. Lunch at Gangtok Hotel. Night stay Over There.

Day 4Leave for Lachung

After Breakfast leave for Lchung. Lunch on the way. Snacks & Dinner at Hotel. Night stay at Lachung Hotel.

What is the best time to visit Gurudongmar Lake ?

The best time to visit Gurudongmar Lake is between October and November and April to mid-June. After that, monsoon usually arrives in Sikkim and you can face heavy rains and landslides. During the winter between December and February, there is usually heavy snowfall in the area and the roads are often blocked due to snow. The weather is also bitingly cold and you will hardly find any settlement beyond Lachen.

When is the best time to enjoy snowfall ?

In summers Sikkim stays pleasant and lovely. The temperature stays between 5 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius. Nights of the summers can be chilling, so it is advised to pack in some woolen clothes as well. This is the best time to visit Sikkim’s Gurudongmar Lake, Yumthang Valley, Nathula Pass, Rumtek Monastery, Khangchendzonga National Park and others are the places to definitely visit.

Will I have to take a permit for visiting Gurudongmar Lake ?

You will need a permit to visit Yumthang Valley, Gurudongmar Lake and any part of North Sikkim. The permit can be obtained only through registered travel agents in Sikkim. You have to get the permit done at least a day before starting your trip to Lachung.

Foreign tourists will require a Protected Area Permit (PAP) to visit North Sikkim. All foreigners should travel in a group of two or more in protected areas wherever allowed. Solo foreigners are not permitted in protected areas. Additionally, foreigners should apply for Protected Area Permit through tour operators who are registered with the Sikkim Tourism Department. These permits are usually checked at various places.

Can i issue permit for Nathula Pass online from my hometown ?

There might be some update regarding online permit in future but currently permits are not issued online. You can issue a permit when you reach Gangtok.

Are there any ATMs ?

Always better to carry cash from Gangtok.

Cellular service & Wi-Fi Internet for tourists

Cellphones are not a problem in Gangtok. All major service providers like Airtel, Vodafone, and Tata Docomo are here with inexpensive national roaming tariffs. There’s no need to buy a local SIM card when in Gangtok.

Gangtok now has incredible 3G & 4G connectivity. Change your mobile phone settings to run internet while on roaming and enjoy superfast browsing speed. Check with your service provider beforehand for applicable charges. Wi-Fi connectivity is available at select hotels only and depending upon your room plan, it might be chargeable or free of cost. You’ll need to check with your hotel for this.

Due to the higher altitude there is no network available in Yumthang Valley but BSNL and Airtel work a little in Lachung.
