Offbeat yet mesmerizing; Nagaland and Manipur are the true gems of India. These two Northeastern states have constantly mesmerized people from around the world. It is not just their flora and fauna that impacts people, but the local cuisines, their handicrafts, songs, dance, and tribal rituals. Everything contributes to its authenticity and charm. Maybe it is the love of the tribes residing in these states that has triggered people to nickname the seven sisters as the ‘land of festivals’.

Imphal is that the capital of state, a state in northeastern Asian nation. On the Imphal watercourse, Kangla Fort was once the seat of native rulers, and currently homes relics. On the side of the centuries-old Polo Ground, state State repository has displays as well as social group artifacts and an outsized royal boat. Do I need a permit to visit Nagaland - Manipur ?

Not for all states. But, out of the 7 northeastern states, you will need permit for 3 of these states: Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Mizoram. This permit is called as Inner Line Permit (ILP). A permit can be obtained at any Arunachal Bhawan, Nagaland Bhawan, or Mizoram Bhawan, located outside of northaest. Major airports in northaest, like Guwahati international airport, have the facility of providing permits. The government of Arunachal Pradesh has also provided the facility of online application of Inner Line Permits. For foreign nationals, you will require another type of permit called as Protected Area Permit (PAP).

Foreign tourists can enter Nagaland freely (without any permits) – however, they need to register with the Foreigner’s Registration Officer (FRO) of the district they visit or the nearest Police Station within 24 hours of their arrival.

We usually include the cost of application for ILPs in the total cost of our tour packages to keep the tour hassle free for you.
