The four major seasons being winter, spring, summer and autumn have their own charm and it’s entirely your call when to visit the picturesque country. So plan your Bhutan trip accordingly. Spring brings along the vibrant colours of the season carpeting the valley with new blooms. The summers are pleasant with the right amount of sun kissing the land while winters are really cold with snow covering most part of the country.
Indian nationals do not need a visa to visit Bhutan. All you need is a passport valid for six months or the voter’s identity card which will permit you an entry to Paro and Thimpu only. A special area permit from the RGoB in the capital city, Thimpu is required for visiting towns other than Paro and Thimpu. If you are entering Bhutan via road, then you need to present a permit issued by the office in Phuentsholing.
A scenic valley town located west of Thimpu, Paro is about 50 km via Thimpu Highway and is an hour-long drive from the capital. Home to the only international airport, Paro is the gateway to Bhutan for international tourists
