Shirdi, known as the Land of Sai, is where the holy soul of Shri Satchidanand Sadguru Sainath Maharaj – affectionately known as Saibaba rests. The temple houses the samadhi (interred remains) of the saint, Sai Baba. The temple is a white marble structure featuring ornate carvings. A marble statue of Sri Sai Baba along with some memorabilia from his life is also present. Lendi Bagh is the garden which Baba everyday and watered the plants. A lamp is kept burning under a pepal tree, which is said to have been planted by Baba. Shani Shingnapur is a village best known for a temple dedicated to Shani, the Hindu god of the planet Saturn. Interestingly, the houses in this village have no doors because of the belief that Lord Shaneshwara will protect from all evil. The Shani mandir houses a five and a half feet high black rock that symbolizes the god Shani. A trishula is placed alongside the symbol. A fair is held in honour of the deity on amavasya (full moon night) when as many as 3 lakh devotees visit the place.
